Jasper the Elf and Bulldozer

We have a elf that visits us through out the month of December, starting with Dec. 1st, his name is Jasper. It is a tridition that we started and the boys have really loved
although I don't think Wyatt really gets it. December 1st he usually
brings pajamas for them and these are a few of the pictures I got of them
as I tried to make them hold still.

Brady didn't believe me when I said that Wyatt said bulldozer while we were reading one of his favorite books. I tried and tried to get him to do it while Brady was home but he never did... so I got out the camera today and it took a while to get him to do it, but he finally did. It takes a second to realize what he says but it's pretty cute.

Tis' The Season...

These are the Boys in my Life.
These are my guys... I don't really know what I want to say... I just love them. Brady has been working really hard and I am very glad the semester is almost over. Then we will have him to ourselves for a full 3 weeks. It's kind of funny... Wyatt, who has always been a mommas' boy, has turn into a daddy's boy. He cries sometimes when Brady leaves, which he never used to do, and all day long if he hears a noise that sounds like it is coming from the door he runs to the door yelling "dadda, dadda!" I have to explain to him that daddy is still at work and it was just a neighbor or something. He has also taken to look at pictures and always pointing out "dadda" even if I am in the picture too... he just says dadda. When Brady gets home he is always so excited and runs to give him a big hug and most days immediately brings him a book for Brady to read to him. I love Brady and I love watching Wyatt love him too. I am so thankful for my boys. Carson is turning into such a helper and he is always so proud of what he does to help me out. Today I was doing my hair in the bathroom and he came in and said, "mom, I have a secret for you." I said; "what is it?" He said, "I have to tell you in your ear." After I bent down he got really close to me ear, like kids usually do, and said, "I made my bed!" He was trying to be a good helper because I wasn't feeling very well and asked him to help me out today. He is way too cute.

Keepin' up the Blog...

So I'm not as good at keeping this up as I thought I would be.... but I'll let you know that we are doing good and looking forward to Thanksgiving and having fun with family. Carson had a really cute program at preschool. He gets a little shy when he has to preform infront of people. His teacher says he does so well during practice and just gets nervous when the parents show up. Still he does a really great job.

We finally got a Van!

We've been looking off and on for a van for the last year... We keep saying "yeah we are getting a van" but nothing ever felt right for us... till now. It was a Sunday night and I was just checking my email and stuff and I thought maybe I'll just check KSL one more time to see whats there. I'd had become almost addicted to KSL classifieds while we looked for our van but had become discouraged. So I wasn't expecting much because I had just checked it a day or two before. But when I got on there our van was there and had just been posted. It was perfect for us... everything felt right about it. It was north of us and not too far away from Brady's sister so we aske her and her husband if they would check it out for us the next day to see if it was really worth us coming up to check it out ourselves. They liked it enough that we thought we'd better get up there to check it out before it was gone. So we went up the next day and after driving it around for a while we said we'd take it. The lady was so nice and we thought that they were selling it for less than it was worth and we felt like we got a great deal on it. Which has been nice because I tend to get buyers remorse pretty bad and as of yet I still feel good about it.

So here are some pictures of the outside... I'll post some of the inside when I take some... It has DVD player instaled in it which the boys love (although we've had to make a rule that we don't turn it on unless we are driving for more than a half hour) It has a lot of great features like power locks and windows (which we've never had before) It also has the power doors which I've been enjoying because I usually have full hands when I head for the car.

On the back bumper is where she said she backed into her Bishop... but other than that it is in really good shape!

Snow!

We got snow last weekend... it was gone by the next day but we had some fun in it while it was here, and now Carson says, "I wish it would snow every day."
Wyatt thought it was some pretty cool stuff... he kept holding out his hands to see if he could catch the snow flake. It was pretty cute.

All Carson wanted to do was make tracks and throw snow balls... He has got a pretty good aim too.

Carson's sugar pictures

Carson and I were practicing his name in sugar (like my mom did with us) after we were done he drew a picture and the rest you get to see!

I just wanted to add that now that this is on here Carson makes me play it for him and says "look at me, I'm so cute."

Wyatt's nose

Wyatt is showing us he knows his body parts...

Back into the swing of things...

Brady has settled into his new job and the kids and I are getting settled into our daily routine. It's kind of nice to be in a routine again... It feels like the whole last year was a little out of wack. Don't get me wrong it was a great year for us but it was just a little... well unorganized.
Now Brady is a 8 to 5ish kind of guy and I get a whole lot more done around the house and with the kids. This last year Brady was an adjunct instructor which meant his schedule could be about anything, from early morning classes to night classes. During the summer he only had 2 classes to teach so he was home a lot, which was nice but I never get as much done when he is there to distract me. I really have missed having him around and you can tell the boys do too. But we all have to grow up and get a real job some day. Which Brady is loving his job and is working hard at it. BYU gave him a pretty good sized office which his stacks of books that have been sitting in our bedroom and are finally out, (yeah!) can't fill. I think I need to get him a great big fake tree to take up some room. He is teaching English 150, Shakespeare, and 2 British Lit classes, which is funny because he studied American Lit. So he spends most his time reading and learning the stuff he teaches his students the next day. Next semester he gets to teach American Lit, which he thinks will be so nice.
I spend most my day with my boys. I've joined a gym that has excellent child care and have really enjoyed putting exercise back into my routine. I've been participating in our wards book club... lets just say that has been interesting. And I spend Wednesday nights at the church with the young women. I have just loved being involved with them and the women I serve with. We have a meeting after YW and usually stay talking till 10pm, which I love and I'm grateful for the support that Brady gives me and he never complains when I leave the house at 6 and don't come home till 10.
Carson is loving preschool and I must say I rather enjoy it too. Wyatt and I get to play for a while and then Wyatt goes down for a nap and I get some me time. Carson is always surprising me with what he know and that he catches onto things so quick. He love to rhyme and tell knock knock jokes. He is very good at helping me out and he makes his bed every day. Although last night when I was putting him to bed he refused to get under his covers and when I asked him why he said "I don't always like to make my bed everyday." That was good enough for me and I put one of Wyatt's baby blankets over him instead.
Wyatt is still a little mommas boy but he is getting better. His curly hair is so cute and some days so out of control but I'm scared to cut it though it needs it badly... He has a mind of his own and his little personality is shining through. We like to play duck duck goose with the boys and the other night Wyatt finally, kind of, caught onto the game. It was his turn and he hit Carson in the head and said duck and went running away down the hall. We all laughed, even Carson.

The Slide

This was a sunday afternoon and Wyatt has finally mastered the slide so I don't have to worry about him too much any more.
