I teach the CTR4's in primary, I have loved it. Not just because the kids are so darn cute but because I get learn the same things my boys do on Sunday. Last Sunday we had a lesson on "What would Jesus do?" Which set the stage for most of our conversation the rest of the day. We chatted about our lesson in the van on the way home and what they thought of it and how their favorite part was singing "once there was a snowman"... of course... well, it is kind of catchy...
Later, I was helping the boys change out of their church clothes in their room when Wyatt and Owen start to quarrel... (not big news, those boys seem like arch enemies most days... sigh...). Something about Wyatt not sharing a car... I sighed... tired once again of their quarreling... Then a thought... "What would Jesus do?" So I turned to Wyatt not knowing who was at fault but because he was older and asked him "What would Jesus do?" He looked at me... sometimes I can't read that kid. He stepped back and sat on the bed behind him. Not knowing if he was going to respond verbally I was satisfied that at least they stopped their little quibble... I turned to help Owen unbutton his shirt, Wyatt still sitting on the bed. After a few buttons Wyatt was by my side, "Well I talked to Jesus," I smiled at his serious face and the tone of his voice. Wyatt reached out and handed the car to his brother. Oh how precious, I love my boys they really do fill my days with smiles and love!
But feelings fade quickly and the boys were once again quarreling over a car this time Owen had one that Wyatt wanted for who knows what reason... So this time I turned to Owen and asked, "What would Jesus do?" He looked at me though his tears and said, "He'd make me another one!"
